"Instagram: Reels & Stories"

β–Ά {{VIDEO: lesson 5-3 β€” Owen & Cole}}Video drops in here. Everything below stands on its own.

When you're done

Her first IG reel will be live β€” built from the outlier board, made in the studio β€” and Stories will be a 20-second daily habit that keeps her feeling alive between posts.

Why this matters

On Instagram, reels are the reach engine and Stories are the relationship engine β€” reels get her discovered by strangers, Stories make followers feel like they know her. Both matter, neither needs new production: reels come from the studio's motion tools aimed by the outlier board, and Stories recycle the shots that didn't make the grid. This is the last new format in the course β€” after this, every content format in the business is in your hands.

The steps

  1. Make the day's reels in the production block. The daily IG quota (from 5-2's table) is a mix of two kinds: pattern remixes from the outlier board β€” Reel Studio puts her inside the proven motion (3-5's remix doctrine) β€” and bankers β€” Subtle-animates on the day's best keepers (3-2), which read as "someone filmed her" and never embarrass you. During warm-up that's one reel a day; at full volume it's 3–5, and the reason that's an hour and not a day is that remixes and bankers are both one-generation products. Vertical, under 15 seconds, her face early β€” always.

  2. The hook rule β€” the first second is the whole game. Whatever the outlier pattern says, obey its hook: the first frame shows her face or the most interesting thing, the caption's first words earn the pause. No logo cards, no slow fades, no "wait for it."

  3. Post reels like posts β€” in the daily ten, with a caption in her voice (one line + a question still wins), a couple of relevant tags max. Then answer early comments β€” early replies signal a living account, and living accounts get shown around. {{VERIFY: fold platform-mechanics claims into the filming verification pass}}

  4. Turn on Trial Reels β€” the testing lab, and it's not optional. Instagram's Trial Reels feature shows a reel to non-followers only, without it appearing on her grid or feed β€” a free laboratory for testing hooks and patterns with zero risk to her page. This is one of the most important tools in the entire traffic system. The routine: when posting a reel, toggle Trial for anything unproven β€” new patterns from the swipe file, hook variations, spicier-vs-cleaner takes. Run trials on top of the daily 3–5, read them after 24 hours, and promote winners: a trial that clearly outperforms gets posted properly (or IG's own prompt shares it to her followers). Losing trials cost nothing β€” no grid clutter, no follower fatigue, no algorithm penalty. At full volume you should have trials running essentially every day; they're how the daily quota keeps getting smarter instead of just bigger. {{VERIFY: Trial Reels toggle location + promote flow at filming}}

  5. Install the Story habit β€” 20 seconds, most days: one non-grid keeper, or a poll ("gym or beach today?"), or a behind-the-life beat in her voice. Stories are also where the tease will live once drops start in the money phase β€” the "tomorrow's post isn't going on the feed πŸ™ˆ" energy (6-4 teaches it) runs through Stories, pointed at the bio link. Polls and questions are cheat codes: taps train the algorithm that people engage with her.

Stories are recycled inventory and 20 seconds of thumb work β€” never new production. The moment Stories become a chore is the moment you're doing them wrong.

  1. Close the loop. Each remix reads its result at 48 hours (3-5's rule) and feeds tomorrow's pattern pick; the weekly numbers sitting rolls up the aggregate β€” which reel type won (pattern vs banker), what trials earned promotion, what Stories did to profile visits. The machine is now fully circular: research β†’ make β†’ post β†’ measure β†’ research, daily.

My creator: [paste persona sheet]. Give me 7 days of Story ideas that take under 30 seconds each to post from existing photos: mix of polls, this-or-that questions, and one-line life beats in her voice. Nothing requiring new shoots. Include 1-2 curiosity-teases pointing to the bio link (drop-day versions come later, in 6-4).

Do it now

~20 minutes.

You're done when

One IG reel is live, one trial is running, and today's Story is up. The full IG machine β€” research, reels, trials, Stories, funnel tracking β€” now runs inside the same Daily Stack blocks as everything else, ramping to its 3–5-a-day share.

If you're stuck

The reel got 200 views and died

Two hundred strangers saw her β€” that's the baseline working, not failing. Check the hook against the outlier's (honestly: does the first second earn a pause?), then let the weekly system iterate. Reels compound; account age + watch-time history raise every future ceiling.

IG cropped/compressed my reel badly

Export vertical from the studio and post from your phone (quality survives phone uploads best). If a format keeps fighting you, the banker reel format is the fallback that always renders clean. {{VERIFY: exact export/format guidance at filming}}

What about talking reels? The big accounts do them

Talking-style reels are a real pattern (and it's in the Vault with the team's material) β€” but they're production-heavier and the board should earn them first: when a talking outlier keeps winning in her niche, that's your signal. Until then, motion + presence does the job.

Stories feel pointless β€” 12 views

Twelve followers β€” the warmest people she has β€” saw her today. Stories aren't reach; they're maintenance on the relationship that converts. The poll taps also quietly teach IG's algorithm who engages, which lifts the reels. Twenty seconds. Keep going.

Next up

Instagram runs. Now the fast-twitch channel: Reddit β€” the highest-intent traffic in her world, and the one platform where the rules genuinely matter. One good post there can outdo a month elsewhere; one bad one gets banned. We'll do it right.
